About Acarrangements

About Michael Grimes
Ever since I joined VoiceMale at Appalachian State University in 2011 I knew that this was something I would never get tired of. After 2 years in the group I found myself holding both the President & Music Director positions. I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Music Education and am currently a middle school band director in Holly Springs, NC. I also work with both middle school and high school choirs and have jugded both collegiate and high school competitions. I have been and am currently a primary arranger for VoiceMale, Treble Attraction, The Mountain Ayres, and One Acchord. All four are Appalachian State University groups. I am also a primary arranger for High Point University's Petal Points and have written for them to compete at the national level.
I am always looking to expand my services and work with other groups all across North Carolina so I would love the opportunity to work with you and your group! I also have a pretty sweet deal for new customers so make sure you check out my Pricing page! Feel free to email me if you have any additional questions!

So How Does This Work?
I am not a huge publishing company that will just give you a generic arrangement. I am a professional musician and want to give you something completely personalized to you and your group's strengths so that you can sound the very best you possibly can. In order for me to do this I need to get to know you a little bit. So before you order browse through what I already have done and listen to some sample tracks. Once you've done that you can Contact me with questions, thoughts, and exactly you want for your arrangement. This way I can make sure you are getting EXACTLY what you want.
Once you and I have figured out exactly what you want then you can go to the Pricing page and pay for your order. I currently charge $50 (USD) for a brand new customized arrangement and $30 for one from my files. If you need modifications to the piece such as rearranging or transposing then it is $40. I accept personal checks and cash but credit card and PayPal are by the far the easiest. Once payment is recieved then I will send you an email with both the PDF for the arrangement as well as a MIDI file. You may print as many copies of the PDF for your organization, but you may not distribute it to people outside of your organization.
I will continue to be of service to you if you have any questions or concerns, need some more modifications done, or even come workshop with you and your group. My job is not done until you and your group sound the best you possibly can. I do ask that you send me a recording, MP3 or YouTube link, so that I can have them on record for my files and also to promote you and your group. Make sure that aquire all appropriate licenses when you record. Click here to order.

Licensing & Royalties Disclaimer
Part of the reason my prices are so low is because I do NOT charge licensing or royalty fees because I do NOT own the rights to these songs. I am a hired service provider by you and your group. I provide this service to you with the expectation and agreement that you will obtain legal licenses to perform and record these songs. The laws surrounding a cappella arranging and their use are extremely complicated so it is important to obtain legal rights to someone else's creative property and give them compensation and credit where it is due.
This is EXTREMELY important when it comes to mechanical licensing and recording. Please visit The Harry Fox Agency in your first step in acquiring mechanical licenses. You can also look through the ASCAP database or BMI Repertoire for performing rights information. If you need additional help or want to confirm that you are taking the right steps please seek out and talk to your school's or organization's legal department.
